What we learnt from marking NAPLAN

What we learnt from marking NAPLAN

Now the dust has settled after the release of the NAPLAN results and schools are busy analysing their data, it is evident that writing is an area of weakness in many schools around the nation.

It is not so much about whether or not students know how to write a narrative or a persuasive piece, or even guess which one it is going to be, but more about students having the wide range of skills that enable them to be competent and confident writers.

It is not uncommon for me to hear teachers bemoan the fact that even high school students cannot write in sentences!

Catherine Black has had experience as a NAPLAN marker and brings a wealth of expertise to this area. Book her now and she can assist your school with an approach to writing improvement.
