ELECTRONIC RESOURCES – TERMS AND CONDITIONS LOGONLITERACY
Many of the resources produced by logonliteracy are available electronically and distributed this way. These days, it is very easy for resources to be shared even though the terms and conditions of the electronic licence may not permit this.
Copying material and distributing without the express permission of logonliteracy (the owner) is not only unethical, it is illegal. Schools and individuals who purchase resources from logonliteracy must strictly adhere to the terms and conditions or fines may result from spot checks by the Copyright Agency Ltd. (CAL).
While it is difficult to develop terms and conditions that cover every eventuality, it is hoped (and believed) that teachers will adhere to the intent of them. This is to protect the intellectual property of Patricia Hipwell, logonliteracy and the decades of work that have gone into the creation of these resources.

• Installation on teachers’ personal computers/electronic devices (ie their own) is not permitted

• Unlimited photocopying of the graphic organisers for use by current students at the school is part of the licence arrangement.
You must seek the permission of the owner of the material (Patricia Hipwell, logonliteracy) if you want to use the material in any way not covered by the terms and conditions.
If in doubt – please ask. Whilst imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, under Australian Copyright Law it is not allowed unless the owner has given permission

PAT’S POWERFUL PEDAGOGIES (PPPs) are weekly tips that will be sent to you directly via email (50 in total).
Their purpose is to put effective literacy practices at the forefront of teaching and learning. Some practices are tried and true and have been around for a long time. Some you may not have seen or used before.
Perhaps, there’ll be some that you used to use but have forgotten about. All of them are supported by what we know works.
Each week, you will receive a short pedagogical practice:
1. Read the tip and the reason we use it.
2. Think about and plan how you will use it in your classes this week.
3. Use it a few times.
4. Reflect on its use.
5. Plan to use it again with or without modifications.
There is minimal preparation associated with the practice – the idea being that it will shape an aspect of the approach to teaching and learning literacy that you use for that week.
PPPs will keep your lessons vibrant, relevant and, most importantly, purposeful. They will ensure that anything you ask your students to do or do with them is worth doing. They may weed out some of the practices we use in the mistaken belief that we are ‘doing literacy’.
